DRIVE 6 - Klamath Falls to Carson City

Taking SR39 out of Klamath Falls, you hit the California border after only 15 minutes. The road becomes SR139 which passes by the Lava Beds National Monument, which contains remnants of lava flows from millions of years ago. Also famous as a battlefield in the Modoc Indian Wars, it is now a great place to drive through and see some very rare scenery, as can be seen in the pictures.

After leaving Lava Beds, we continued on SR139 to Susanville where we took US395 the rest of the way to Carson City, passing through Reno.
