LYNCHBURG CITY STADIUM

Lynchburg City Stadium is the stadium with the smallest capacity in the minor leagues - about 800 seats right now. That is because it is under renovations, a process that has taken many years but should finally be completed this summer.
Because there is still a lot of work to be done on the stadium, which was built in 1940, I will not post a full review at this time. There are only 3 sections of seats, all on the third base line. The first 6 rows are reserved and cost $7, the benches are general admission and cost $6 and are recommended, since they are close to the field and allow you to sit anywhere.
Parking is free, which is a nice change. The fans are also very good, cheering even if their team is down by 10 runs. The on-field promotions are entertaining as well, and make up for the lack of facilities. The one feature that I found interesting was the basketball hoop in center field - if a player hits a dinger through the basket, he wins $500.
Overall, this park should not be visited until next year, once the renovations are completed. At that time, I hope to visit again and update this page.
