DUNEDIN - GAME RECAP

The Tampa Yankees made the 30-mile drive over to Grant Field to complete a 3-game set against the Blue Jays. Tampa had won the first two games the day before in a doubleheader sweep in Tampa, and they started Julio DePaula against Diegomar Markwell. The first three innings went by quickly as both pitchers escaped from jams, but in the 4th, Neesan Zieour doubled to lead off and scored on Gabrial Gross' single.

The Dunedin lead was short-lived, however, as Markwell hit Brian Myrow with one out in the 5th. Torre Tyson doubled and a sac fly by Clay Hooper tied the game. Andy Phillips then singled in Tyson and Tampa was in a familiar place, leading the Blue Jays.

Safe at second

Tampa scored another in the 6th and one more in the 8th to make it 4-1. In the Jays' 8th, Gross doubled (his 3rd of 4 hits in the game) and scored on two groundouts, but Rosman Garcia came in to pitch and finished the game without allowing any more runs. Tampa won 4-2 in a quick game that was more interesting than the score might indicate. It gets a 7/10 for good pace and good Tampa pitching.

DePaula was the winner
