DESCRIPTION BALLPARK GAME RECAP

COMMUNITY FIELD

Community Field

With a seating capacity of 3,502, Community Field is one of the smallest parks in the minors. But it is well-designed and although over 50 years old, it is a cozy place to sit and enjoy a ballgame.

Conveniently located just off US61 on Mount Pleasant Drive, Community Field's parking lot is on grass, which might be confusing if you arrive early and there are no other cars there. It is set back from the street, and may be a bit difficult to pick out initially, as the turn in from Mount Pleasant is just a small gravel road.

The front of the stadium - the two ticket windows are visible

There are four rows of box seats and about 10 rows of general admission benches. Of course, there is not a bad seat in the place. You may want to sit down closer to first base to avoid the back netting, but otherwise, wherever you sit, you will enjoy the game. There is no roof cover on the stadium so you can enjoy the sunshine in the early evening.

Concessions are located on the outside of the seating area behind home plate - the pizza is good as it is made off-site and delivered. I also liked the souvenir shop which had more goods than I would have expected from a minor league team.

Lonely FanA solitary fan catches a foul ball hit right to him

This was the first small stadium on our trip, so we don't have anything to compare it to, but overall, it was a great experience, made even better by the Bees' GM Chuck Brockett who visited us personally to welcome us to his park. We heartily recommend that a ballpark trip in the Midwest make a stop in Burlington, it is a great little town with a great little ballpark.
