DESCRIPTION BALLPARK GAME RECAP

BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA

Bakersfield is located about 2 hours north of Los Angeles in the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley. It is known as the country and western capital of California and fittingly hosts NASCAR stock car races twice a year.

Bakersfield is spread out and has a population over 175,000. It  is also apparently one of the fastest growing cities in California, but it really doesn't have much to appeal to the tourist - there are a couple of museums, but nothing that caught our eye during our drive through.

For us, the biggest attraction was the ballpark and the Bakersfield Blaze, High Class-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Click on the links above to see our impressions of Sam Lynn Ballpark and the game we saw.
