EVERETT - GAME RECAP

The Yakima Bears were in town to start a 5-game set against the Aquasox. These teams had just played 5 games in Yakima, so this was really the 6th game in a row for these two teams, so they knew each other well.

Everett scored first in the 3rd inning when Jose Lopez doubled home Vicente Rosario, but Yakima replied with 2 in the 4th on 3 walks and two hit batsmen. In the 5th, Everett tied it on Rosario's double and Greg Dobb's RBI single.

The game moved along quickly, which was good as it had become rather chilly. In the 8th, Yakima plated 3 runs to take a 5-2 lead and the game looked safe. But Everett did not give up and scored 3 of their own on 4 consecutive hits, including an RBI single by Rosario, who had a great game, going 3 for 5.

Out at second

The game was tied at 5 and neither team could score in the 9th, which meant we had extra innings. Yakima manufactured a run in their half on a double, sacrifice bunt, and sacrifice fly. Everett threatened in the bottom of the 10th, with men on first and second and only 1 out but Bears reliever P.J. Bevis shut the door with a strikeout and groundout. The game was finally over after 3:48 - Yakima wins 6-5 in 10 innings. This was a pretty good game, and it gets 7/10.
