ROBIN ROBERTS STADIUM

The full name of this ballpark is Robin Roberts Stadium at Lanphier Park. First built in 1928, this park has undergone a number of renovations, but it is still one of the smaller ballparks that we have seen, and certainly one of simplest. A small green house greets you as you approach the front - in here you may get your tickets. $7 box seats are good, the back netting isn't that much of an interference. The first 6 rows are box seats, above the walkway are the $6 reserved seats, which are just benches.
There really isn't anything unique about this park, which probably makes it unique in itself. There is a picnic area along the 3rd base line which requires that you pay close attention to the game - it is in prime foul ball territory. The concessions are located on the outside of the seating area and offer typical fare. But other than that, this is just a good place to watch a game. It is located slightly away from the downtown core and parking is free, so if you are in Springfield, head on up to the ballyard - you'll enjoy it.
