SPRINGFIELD - GAME RECAP
The Canton Crocodiles were in town to take on the Capitals in the first of four games. Canton scored twice in the first on two walks and a double, and they added another run in the second. Springfield fought back, however, getting two in the 3rd on a Dan Graham home run and three singles after that. In the fifth, two more singles tied the game.
In the 7th, things fell apart for the home side as Jeremy Cox yielded two walks before being pulled with two out. Reliever Scott Lucht needed only one out, but he gave up a single, watched his teammates make two errors, and then yielded a 3-run home run that put Canton up 9-3.

Graham got his team within 2 with a grand slam in the 8th, but that was all she wrote for the Caps who lost 9-7 in a hard-fought game. One of the highlights of this game was the appearance of Sport, one of the traveling mascots. He kept fans entertained during the game, particularly with his antics around the umpires.
