BALLPARK

GAME RECAP

LON GOLDSTEIN FIELD

Lon Goldstein Field is really not a professional ballpark, having been built for local school use instead. Capacity is about 3,500 and most of those seats are behind a wire fence. For $8 you can sit in the first 8 rows, for $7 you can sit in the last 8 rows. There is also a $5 general admission ticket that allows you to sit on benches down the lines.

This stadium is only being used for this year - from next year, there will be a new stadium in downtown Fort Worth - we look forward to seeing it in a couple of years. For that reason, we aren't going to describe in detail this park.  Suffice to say that you have a great view of the game, although the lighting is substandard (I wondered how the outfielders can see the ball!) the fans are fun, and the food is good too. If you are in Dallas, check out the Cats schedule at www.fwcats.com - it is a good night at a ballyard that won't see pro games after this season.

One interesting thing is that because the park is located on county school property, alcohol is not sold at the games. The crowds are still boisterous, though, which is a sign that they enjoy their team and their baseball.
