WEST TENN - GAME RECAP
The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx were hosting the Chattanooga Lookouts, who had blown a 7-0 lead two days earlier at home. John Koronka started for Chattanooga and was brilliant from the first pitch. After two perfect innings, Koronka gave up two singles in the third, but induced John Hamilton to fly out to end the threat. Jaxx hurler Sergio Mitre wasn't as sharp, loading the bases in the 2nd, only to be saved when Alejandro Diaz lined into a double play. In the third, Chattanooga had runners on first and second with 2 out when Steve Smitherman singled to center. But Chris Haas got caught off second base and was tagged out before the run crossed the plate, and the game was still scoreless.
A
rare single for West Tenn
Chattanooga finally clicked in the top of the 5th when Andrew Beattie singled, was sacrificed to second, and scored on Haas' RBI single. It was 1-0 Lookouts, and Koronka remained solid, giving up a single in the fifth, but picking off the runner, and doing the same in the 7th. In the 8th, he walked the lead off batter, but was left in the game and got out of the jam by striking out pinch hitter Jason Dubois, who was the Southern League hitter of the week.

Scott Dunn was brought in to get the save and did so in fine fashion, retiring all three hitters he faced as Chattanooga won a quick (2:18) game 1-0, making up for their collapse two nights earlier.
