PHOENIX, AZ - GAME RECAP

The game we saw featured the Maryvale Saguaros against the Phoenix Desert Dogs. Phoenix starter L.J. Yankosky (Braves) was on top on his game, giving up only 4 hits over 6 strong innings. The Dogs' offense was solid as well, scoring a run in the second on a John Buck (Astros) groundout, another in the fifth keyed by a Bo Hart (Cardinals) double, and a third in the 6th on a Buck sacrifice fly.

In the 8th, Jason Lakman came in for the Saguaros, but he was victimized by poor defense as second baseman Brant Ust committed an error on the first batter of the inning. After two outs, Buck hit a long home run, and Hart followed up with a 2-run shot of his own to make the final 7-1 Phoenix. A Phoenix blowout was the sign of things to come as the Diamondbacks followed up with a 15-2 win of their own later that night.
