PHOENIX - WHERE TO EAT
If you are checking out a game, there are a couple of places around the stadium that are good for lunch or a quick dinner before entering the ballpark.
Directly across from the stadium is High Tops Sporting Nightlife, which is a great lunch spot on the weekend with about two dozen televisions and plenty of different channels showing lots of afternoon sports. Not a lot of choices on the menu, but the pizza is pretty good.
After the ballgame, the restaurant turns into a party place with a lot of young people congregating - there is usually something happening on the patio so if you want to avoid the traffic, it may be worthwhile stopping in and checking things out.
Across 4th St on Jefferson is the Jefferson Street Bar and Grill, which has more choices when it comes to the food menu. It has an outdoor patio that is cooled by misting sprinklers, but I would recommend staying inside during the very hot summer months.
Both of these places offer decent food at a good price and because of their proximity to the ballpark, we would recommend both of them to you.
If you are looking for some good Mexican food for cheap, try the Tee Pee Tap Room, just behind the ballpark at 602 E. Lincoln. Great chimichangas and enchilandas and they even offer a shuttle to the game, although it is only a five minute walk.
