ST. LOUIS - WHERE TO EAT

The downtown core of St. Louis presents surprisingly few choices for a pre-game meal. The most popular spot seemed to be Friday's, located just north of Busch Stadium. This is a chain restaurant that serves big portions of decent food.

For those of you who want something lighter, I highly recommend the St. Louis Bread Company at the corner of 6th and Pine. Delicious sandwiches and lemonade make for a great pre-game meal.

Just down Olive Street is a place called Caleco's, which is a sports bar/restaurant and is also busy. It is open late and is OK for food, but probably serves better as a drinking spot.

There are also several other sports bars that are filled with Cardinal fans before and after the game if you want to enjoy a few pops. Don't ask for Miller here though!

A good area to find a variety of eateries is Laclede's Landing. Located just north of the Arch, it is the site of the original settlement of St. Louis. Now containing a number of renovated 19th-century buildings, the area is home to some good restaurants and eclectic stores.
