PITTSBURGH - TRIVIA

H.J. Heinz is based in Pittsburgh, and uses the Keystone (symbol of Pennsylvania, the Keystone State) on their label of Heinz Ketchup.

Pittsburgh is the only city that ends in "burgh" in Pennsylvania - there was a law in the late 1800's that forced all 'burghs to remove the 'h'. Pittsburgh became Pittsburg for a while, but eventually the citizens asked for the law to be repealed and the spelling was again changed.

The Ohio River begins at Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh is the largest inland port in the U.S.

Pittsburgh was named for William Pitt, a British diplomat.
