DESCRIPTION ATTRACTIONS BALLPARK GAME RECAP WHERE TO EAT TRIVIA

MILWAUKEE - ATTRACTIONS

We spent three days in Milwaukee, but as usual, spent most of it at the ballpark. But we did manage a day or so for touring and here are 4 attractions that we recommend.

1. Miller Brewing TourEnjoy a tour of Miller Breweries. The tour starts with a film which makes you very thirsty, and then takes you through the packaging, shipping, and beermaking facilities. The tour ends at Miller Inn, where you can enjoy three free samples and send free postcards anywhere in the world.  Hey, free beer, what can be better?

2. The Domes - Properly known as the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory, Domesthe Domes consist of 3 conoidal glass houses that each contain a different horticultural exhibit. At $4 it may be a bit pricy, but we enjoyed the tropical dome which presents a large number of different tropical plants. There is also an arid dome which represents a desert scene, and a Show Dome, which changes exhibits 5 times a year. When we were there it was a flower show with a Peter Pan theme, and was attractively done. The domes are located close to Miller Park, on Layton Blvd, which is also 27th  between Adams and Jefferson Sts and 17th and 18th Avenues.

3. Veterans Park - Located on the lakefront, Veterans Park is a good place to relax on a sunny day. You can rent a bike, or some roller blades, and explore the area that way, or just take a short walk through the area. With Lake Michigan so close, it never gets too hot, so you can enjoy your time there. Make sure not to park at the Art Museum parking lot, which is not cheap.

4. International Clown Hall of Fame - Located in very small quarters on the bottom floor of the Grand Avenue Mall, The ICHOF is a very quick stop on any tourist's list, taking about 20 minutes to see. At $2 (with 2-for-1 discounts for AAA members) it is a bargain for those who like their clown history. They are looking for a larger building to move into, as right now they only have 4 rooms, but for now, it is worth checking out which clowns have been inducted.
