Did you know that Boeing was also an airline that eventually became United Airlines?
If you lay the Space Needle down, it will just barely fit inside Safeco Field. The Space Needle is 605 feet tall, while Safeco is 655 feet from one end to the other.
When Seattle was built, they used sawdust for landfill - this caused lots of problems when the sawdust began rotting!
Seattle had a major problem with toilets back in the 1880s - toilets built low down would suddenly erupt due to increasing pressure caused by tides coming in and forcing water back up the draining pipes. The problem was solved only when Seattle raised their streets after the great fire of 1889.
