DESCRIPTION ATTRACTIONS BALLPARK GAME RECAP WHERE TO EAT TRIVIA

SEATTLE - WHERE TO EAT

We have now been to Seattle twice and have a couple of recommendations. First are a couple of restaurants near Pioneer Square. There is Zaina which serves good gyros and kebab sandwiches among other interesting things. It is located at 108 Cherry Street just up from the square. It was voted Best Middle Eastern food downtown, 2000 by Seattle Weekly. As well, give Oldtimer's Cafe a shot on 1st Street, the soup and salad combo is a bargain.

Around Safeco, there isn't much - the Pyramid Ale House is very busy, so get there before 4pm on game day to assure yourself a table. The food here is quite good and not overly expensive. There is also a new Outback restaurant that should be busy on game days as well. Inside Safeco, you can eat at the Hit It Here Cafe which has a good selection of snacks and meals that should keep you from spending $5 on Cracker Jacks at the ballpark.

For those of you coming from downtown, try Wolfgang Puck's restaurant on 1225 First Avenue for large portions at decent prices. As well, just down the street at 1103 First Avenue is McCormick and Schmick's, which offers good pre-game specials.

After the game, we liked the Fort St. George bar in the International District. Run by Japanese proprietors, this bar is rumoured to see Sasaki or Ichiro occasionally. Two TV's behind the bar allow you to keep up on all the sports news.
