September 8th: Tom Glavine takes a perfect game into the 6th and holds on for a 3-1 victory over Houston. The Mets looked unstoppable at this point, but they are struggling two weeks later.

September 5th: Alex Rodriguez hits 2 homers in the 7th inning to lead the Yankees to a 10-2 win over the Seattle Mariners. Joba Chamberlain gets his first major-league win in relief.

September 3rd: The Ottawa Lynx play their final game, a sad 8-5 loss to Syracuse.

September 2nd: A beautiful Sunday afternoon is marred by the Syracuse Chiefs scoring 4 runs to tie the game in the 9th inning and then 2 more in the 12th to win 8-6.
August 31st: Danny Sandoval of the Ottawa Lynx hits a double in the bottom of the 10th inning to send the Lynx to a 5-4 win over Syracuse. It turns out to be the last win in Lynx history.
Earlier in the day, Anaheim Ducks defenseman Sean O'Donnell brought the Stanley Cup to Kanata where I went to see it and take a few pictures. Being a Maple Leaf fan, it might be a while before I see it again.
August 30th: A doubleheader to begin the final homestand for the Lynx. Ottawa wins the first 1-0 behind a great pitching performance from Gary Knotts and gets their 1000th victory in the process. The nightcap is a 3-2 extra-inning loss to visiting Rochester.

May 5th: Barry Bonds hits his 744th career homer to lead the Giants to a 9-4 victory over the visiting Phillies on a beautiful spring day that ends 11 great days in California.

May 3rd: Scott Niedermayer scores 4:30 into the second overtime to give the Anaheim Ducks a 2-1 victory over Vancouver and eliminate the Canucks from the NHL playoffs. Roberto Luongo demonstrates that he is the best in the game with 56 saves.

May 2nd: An afternoon affair at Dodger Stadium sees Los Angeles hold off Arizona 2-1 behind the solid pitching of Mark Hendrickson.
May 1st: The High Desert Mavericks extinguish the Bakersfield Blaze 10-0 in a dull game in Adelanto, CA.

April 28th: Future all-star Justin Upton crushes a homer in the 2nd inning and scores the winning run after doubling in the 8th to lead the Visalia Oaks to a 5-4 victory over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

April 27th: Fresno pitchers limit the Colorado Spring Sky Sox to 2 hits and Byung-Hyun Kim is hard-luck loser, falling 4-1 to the Grizzlies.

April 26th: The Lake Elsinore Storm jump out to a quick 4-0 lead and hold on to defeat the Modesto Nuts 5-2 in the first of four California League tilts on the trip.

April 25th: I'm back after a short return to Japan. To celebrate, I watch Seattle defeat Oakland 2-0 in a game that takes only 1:47 and features two complete games, including a masterful shutout by Jarrod Washburn.

April 3rd: Bryan McCabe scores in overtime to give the Leafs a 3-2 victory over Philadelphia. However, the Leafs dismal performance in this game foretells their elimination from the playoffs 4 days later after I return to Japan.

April 1st: Chris Bosh scores 24 to lead the Toronto Raptors over the Charlotte Bobcats 107-94. The victory clinches Toronto a playoff berth.
